STEVEN TANGEDAL most recent directing duties were last year with our final production at our other TOB at 13 S. Broadway — Dirty Blonde. A Colorado native, Steve was raised in East Westby, North Dakota, graduated with a BS Degree in Instrumental Music (French Horn major) and minor in Theatre Arts from Minot, ND State University, where he was an active member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Alpha Psi Omega and State President of MENC. He toured Europe with the International Music Camp Concert Tour and was chosen to be a member of the Young Americans in Concert. He also did additional work towards Masters in Vocal Conducting at CU Boulder and has been active in the Denver Theater Community since moving back in 1979. Steve has been a part of Theatre Group since moving to Denver in 1979 and performing in their early productions of Jesus Christ, Superstar, Godspell and Deathtrap and directing early productions of See How They Run, Twelve Angry Men and Two by Two and has since worked on more than 200+ productions as a director, producer, designer, performer and Executive Artistic Director. Comedy - Sordid Lives, Compleat Wks of Shkspr (Abridged), Tony and Tina's Wedding, Jeffrey. Drama - Southern Baptist Sissies, Laramie Project, Corpus Christi, Emma's Child, Burn This, A Perfect Ganesh, Six Degrees of Separation, Tracers. Musicals - Naked Boys Singing, Batboy, Cabaret, Suds, Closer Than Ever, Mystery of Edwin Drood, A...My Name is Alice. Others: Beautiful Thing, The Exonerated, Boys in the Band. On stage Steve has appeared in our productions of Ruthless: The Musical, The Exonerated, Howard Crabtree's Whoop Dee Doo!, The Only Thing Worse You Could Have Told Me, Two Boys in a Bed on a Cold Winters Night, Love!Valour!Compassion, Raft of the Medusa, Medal of Honor Rag, Antigone, and Laughing Wild. They are ALL his favorite with a special place in his heart for each current production. Most recent directing duties have been Debbie Does Dallas, Naked Boys Singing, Sordid Lives, Cabaret, Southern Baptist Sissies and Laramie Project. Over the years you may remember his productions of Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Batboy, Lonely Planet, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), Corpus Christi, Beautiful Thing, Tony ‘n Tina’s Wedding, Death and the Maiden, A Perfect Ganesh, subUrbia, Six Degrees of Separation, Closer Than Ever, Tracers, A … My Name is Alice and Burn This. Steve will be directing Jeffrey, History Boys and The Last Session to start out our 37th Season and his 29th Theatre Group Season.
