Stephen Maestas will be appearing in as Hector in
Theatre Group's production of
History Boys. Stephen is the recipient of 5 nominations from the Denver Drama Critics Circle Awards, winner of Best Season for an Actor and “Best Comic Actor” from Westword’s Best of Denver. He, happily, returns to the
Theatre Group where he has previously appeared as Guadalupe in
Women Behind Bars, Father Mark in
Tony and Tina’s Wedding, Roberto in
Death and the Maiden and Ganesha in
A Perfect Ganesh. Stephen has been active in Denver theatre for the last 25 years and has worked extensively with Hunger Artists Theatre Group where he appeared as Hercule Poirot in
Black Coffee, Sheridan Whiteside in
The Man Who Came to Dinner, and others. He played Pirelli in Bonfils’ 1983 acclaimed production of
Sweeney Todd, and was “Bottom” in the Mirror Player’s production of
A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Stephen has also appeared over the years at The Avenue Theatre, The Denver Center Theatre, Aurora Fox, and several other theatres which no longer exist.

Stephen would also like to dedicate this performance to Merrill Key, his best friend and “partner in crime” who died in 1994.
