trey r. barker Past scenic and light designs have been seen in The Memory of Water, Three Days of Rain, Rosenkrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Colorado Quickies, and The Colorado Womens Playwright Festival. For the Mizel Arts Center production of The Prince and the Pauper and The Mysterious Affair at Styles, Barker was the assistant director. Barker is also a writer, and his work for the stage includes an adaptation of Agatha Christie's Mysterious Affair at Styles, a late-night version of The Wizard of Oz, and a one man play based on the life of Edgar Allan Poe.
joseph mcPhillips was a transplant to the Rockies as a young teenager. He attended high school in the region, and upon graduation spent a year traveling continental. He then moved to the beautiful Northwest, settling in Seattle for 10 years until he returned to Denver in 2000. He has a passion for anything theatrical.
nick w. mischel This is Nicks directorial debut with Theatre Group. He's acted in classics such as Harvey, The Man Who Came to Dinner, Anything Goes, Wizard of Oz and Woody Allen's God. He is founder and director of Improv, Inc., teaching classes and is a member of Laugh Lines, the groups performance troupe. Who would have guessed he's a therapist in private practice by day? Special thanks to all parents, you are still your child's favorite audience. Support arts education in the schools! And finally, to the ladies, this show is for you.
judy phelan–Hill (Gertrude Stein) returns to Theatre Group for her third production. Other Theatre Group credits include 'night Mother and Ten Percent in Maple Grove. She most recently appeared in Missing Persons and Dearly Departed at the Avenue Theatre and Three Viewings at the Aurora Fox. By day, Judy owns and operates Second-Hand Rose-Ann, a Best of Westword consignment shop in Congress Park.
marion r. rex (Alice B. Toklas) is delighted to be working for the first time with Theatre Group, and for the first time with Director Nick W. Mischel, and for the first time with Judy Phelen-Hill in the very first Denver production of Gertrude Stein and a Companion. She thanks her husband, Don, for his love and support, without which she could not enjoy all these exciting firsts!
