In John Logan’s moving yet horrifying play, we meet two infamous killers, and the mystic, mythic figure that chose to defend these two.

Set in the 1920s, Logan spins the story of Leopold and Loeb, two rich, handsome teenagers that, due to the mixing of their personalities and dangerous philosophies (Nietzche gone bad) decide to kill someone for the experience of it. After this heinous act, Clarence Darrow rides in, not to wipe the guilt from their souls, but merely defend them from going to the gallows.

shelly bordas became a slave to the Theatre Group in 1995. When not appearing onstage (most recently in Parallel Lives at the Phoenix and The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told at Theatre On Broadway), she can be found in the house selling tickets and wine to patrons. She is proud of every production at the Theatre On Broadway, and especially proud to be part of the family Ð still. Thanks to Steve and Nick for years of bliss

marc burg (Loeb) is happy to return to the Theatre Group for his third production. Previous Theatre Group credits include: A Question of Mercy and Beautiful Thing. Marc would also like to thank his “Sweetie,” for everything.

patrick grieder joins the Theatre Group family as their Advertising Executive. He is excited about finding new experiences in the world of theatre and the family at Theatre Group, and looks forward to learning all he can from those around him.

josh hartwell (Reporter 1) was last seen as Clifford Anderson in Deathtrap at the Center Stage in Evergreen, after his year–long hiatus from theatre. He is happy to be onstage at Theatre On Broadway again, and dedicates his performance to Dan Hartwell, whom he misses and loves very much.

jim hunt (Darrow) This summer, Jim portrayed the Peddler in the Arvada Center’s production of Aladdin and the Glass Slipper. On weekends, he played the Emperor in Seven Ages’ production of The Emperor’s New Clothes at Keystone Resort. Last fall he created the role of Serge in Curious Theatre Company’s production of Art. He has stepped in for Bill Berry as Aunt Marguerite in Dearly Departed and as Max Nugget in Murder Most Fowl, both at The Avenue Theatre. Each Halloween Jim portrays H.G. Wells in Victorian Horrors at the Molly Brown House.

lamecia landrum has done tons of costumes for about 10 years, primarily for the Theatre Group, but she does occasionally wander off somewhere else. That might be due to age.

kelly lardie (Reporter 3) is excited to be onstage again with Theatre Group. One of his favorite roles with them has been as James in Corpus Christi. Other regional credits include Derma in La Cage aux Folles, Felix in Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up, and Mordred in Camelot. Kelly has also produced, directed and choreographed many shows around Denver.

brian mallgrave Leopold) is thrilled to play Leopold in his debut with Theatre Group. He appeared locally in several productions at Boulder’s Dinner Theatre after an extensive tour with the Nebraska Shakespeare Festival. A Maryland native, he hails from Omaha where he received a B.A. in Drama from the University of Nebraska.

steven miles (Crowe) is proud to join Theatre Group for a second production. He was last seen at Theatre On Broadway in The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told. His professional acting career throughout Denver has been most rewarding. His favorite rolls include CS Lewis (Shadowlands), Tony (West Side Story), and Ernie (Rumors). Steven is a graduate of BYU – Hawaii with a B.F.A. He gives thanks and love to his family and friends for their support.

steven neale has served as stage manager for the Theatre On Broadway for over three years for such shows as A Question of Mercy, Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly, Corpus Christi, and Poor Super Man. Steven also is the designer of the Theatre Group’s programs and newsletters, as well as serving as Webmaster for the Theatre Group Web site. Thanks to Steve and Nick for the creative freedom, and all my great friends who have wandered into my life.

george pulver feels privileged to do technical work for Theatre Group in this production, as well as for past productions, including: A Question of Mercy, Execution of Justice and Poor Super Man. Also, he recently appeared onstage in Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly, Party! and Howard Crabtree’s Whoop Dee Doo!

cary seston (Reporter 2) is thrilled to be working with such a fabulous cast and crew. She was last seen as Myrtle Mae in the Colorado Actors Theatre production of Harvey. Some of her other favorite roles include Carol in David Mamet’s Oleanna and the Youngest in Minutes from the Blue Route. Cary would like to thank Jay for his love and support.

nicholas sugar is the Artistic Director for the Theatre Group. He recently directed Stupid Kids, Whyde Awake and A Question of Mercy as well as last season’s award-winning Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly, The Blue Room, and Shakespeare’s R&J. Other directing projects include The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me, The Dying Gaul, Party!, Love! Valour! Compassion!, subUrbia, Psycho Beach Party, Howard Crabtree’s Whoop Dee Doo!, and Poor Super Man (Best of Westword, 1998-1999). Nicholas has been seen on stage in the critically acclaimed productions of Corpus Christi, The Compleat Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged), Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, and A Perfect Ganesh. He has worked as a director, choreographer and teacher with numerous theatres and schools. Nicholas serves on the board of directors for The Colorado Theatre Guild.

tDA design and production was formed in October of 1999. Since their recent beginning they have provided decor and design support for many auspicious occasions, including corporate events, weddings, galas, trade shows, fund–raisers, permanent installations, theatrical stages and fashion shows. Tina Anderson holds a design degree from Colorado State University. She has been involved in the special events industry for over 12 years. She oversees all technical production, and her favorite events are fashion shows and theatrical production. Wendy Foster holds a design degree from North Dakota State University. Prior to her recent transmutation to the special events industry, Wendy was an interior designer and owned an art gallery. Her favorite events are tent weddings.
