shelly bordas (Shanghai Mabel) is happy to be back in the clink after three years of freedom. Since her parole from Cell Block Q, she has been seen in Theatre Group productions as Leah in Beautiful Thing; “God” in The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told; Kris/Gina/Lizzie/Hank/Terry/Bill/Syvie & Holly in Parallel Lives; and your hostess, Katcha Balzoff in Cabaret. She is currently performing in The 3 Prince Charmings at the Arvada Center, and is looking forward to getting back into handcuffs.
blaine daniel (Schatze Laverne) is ecstatic to be on the stage again. After working with the Hunger Artist Ensemble on their production of The Kentucky Cycle, he took a long hiatus from his relationship with performance and Denver theater.ÊIn turn, he feels very privileged and proud to be working with Theatre Group and Chris Willard on such a great show. donna debreceni is a native Coloradoan and has been playing for theatres, clubs, piano bars, and corporate events for… well, let’s just say, quite awhile! She has also composed for film and television in Los Angeles, performed and recorded for country artists in Nashville, and toured the country and Taiwan with West Side Story. She has performed and music–directed numerous times for the Town Hall Arts Center in Littleton, Shwayder Theatre in Denver, Magic Moments (an annual benefit production with and for people with special needs) and here at Theatre On Broadway for Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly; Whyde Awake, which she music–directed, arranged, and recorded tracks for; and Cabaret. She would like to thank her husband, Todd, for his love and support, and her mom for making her practice.
teresa harris (Pearl Wilbur) is very happy to perform again at Theatre On Broadway. She loved playing “Frenchie” in Theatre Group’s production of Cabaret earlier this season. Other credits include Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof, Diana in Lend Me a Tenor, and Val in A Chorus Line. Teresa will next appear at Boulder’s Dinner Theatre as Jenifer in Paint Your Wagon in August.
gary dean hathaway is honored to have the chance to work at Theatre On Broadway. He has worked at many theatres around town including Country Dinner Playhouse, Boulder’s Dinner Theatre, the Arvada Center, Town Hall Arts Center, and the Aurora Fox.ÊHis acting, directing and choreography credits include such shows as Into the Woods, The Fantasticks, Closer than Ever, The Mikado, 1776, Damn Yankees, and Sweeney Todd.ÊLove and thanks to his amazing wife Kristin, and his wonderful daughter Cassie. And special thanks to Chris for the opportunity.
lamecia landrum has done tons of costumes for about 10 years, primarily for the Theatre Group, but she does occasionally wander off somewhere else. That might be due to age.
steven miles (Stella Crumm) is happy to be joining Theatre Group’s production of Cell Block Sirens of 1953. He was last seen on the Theatre On Broadway’s stage as Crowe in Never the Sinner. His favorite roles have been as Tony in West Side Story, C.S. Lewis in Shadowlands, and Erni in Rumors. He wishes to send a special thanks to his friends and family for all their love and support.
caleb murray (Guard/Doctor) is sexually aroused by his return to the Theatre On Broadway after playing Herman in Cabaret. With a minor in music theatre, he has been involved in writing and directing for a private musical theatre over the last several years, as well as fronting an alternative band. Additional musical exploits include Godspell, The Secret Garden and The Masquerade.
steven neale has has served as stage manager for the Theatre On Broadway for over four years for such shows as Cabaret, Never the Sinner, Whyde Awake, A Question of Mercy, Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly, Corpus Christi, and Poor Super Man. Steven also is the designer of the Theatre Group’s programs and newsletters, as well as serving as Webmaster for the Theatre Group Web site. Thanks to Steve and Nick for the creative freedom, and all my great friends who have wandered into my life.
suzanne connors nepi (Gwendolyn Duke-Hutton/Welch) is so excited to be performing at Theatre On Broadway in Cell Block Sirens of 1953. Regional credits include the musical benefit Magic Moments, as well as the Aurora Fox’s Kindergarten. Suzanne holds a Bachelor’s in theatre from Frostburg State University in Maryland. A recent transplant from Washington D.C., other credits range from Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors to Constanze in Amadeus. This was a “riot!” Muchas gracias, Chris! Lots of love to Mark, Mary and Peter.
dustin poché interned under Lamecia Landrum during Cabaret and Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly. He has just recently graduated from the Art Institute of Colorado with a degree in fashion design and is excited to join the Theatre Group family with upcoming productions.
george pulver feels privileged to do technical work for Theatre Group in this production, as well as for past productions, including: Cabaret, Snakebit, A Question of Mercy, Execution of Justice and Poor Super Man. Also, he recently appeared onstage in Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly, Party! and Howard Crabtree’s Whoop Dee Doo!
t marc stevens has designed lights for our recent productions of Snakebit, Cabaret, Never the Sinner, A Perfect Ganesh, and Burn This as well as almost 100 shows since his start in lighting up the college opera Merry Wives of Windsor. His work includes opera, theatre, dance, comedy and a stint lighting up Anne Murray in her “Spread Your Tiny Wings” tour.
nicholas sugar is the Artistic Director for the Theatre Group. He recently directed Never the Sinner, Stupid Kids, Whyde Awake and A Question of Mercy as well as last season’s award-winning Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly, The Blue Room, and Shakespeare’s R&J. Other directing projects include Love! Valour! Compassion!, subUrbia, Psycho Beach Party, Whoop Dee Doo!, and Poor Super Man (Best of Westword, 1998-1999). Nicholas has been seen on stage in the critically acclaimed productions of Cabaret, Corpus Christi, The Compleat Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged), Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, and A Perfect Ganesh. He has worked as a teacher, director, and choreographer with numerous schools and theatres. Prior to his move to Denver, Nicholas was working in Hong Kong, Los Angeles and New York. Nicholas serves on the board of directors for The Colorado Theatre Guild.
steven tangedal started with Theatre Group in 1979, and has directed a wide variety of shows including the dramas Tracers, Burn This and Six Degrees of Separation; the musicals Cabaret, A…My Name is Alice, The Mystery of Edwin Drood and Closer Than Ever; the comedies Jeffrey, Compleat Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged) and Tony ’n Tina’s Wedding — and the recent hits Parallel Lives, Beautiful Thing, Emma’s Child and The Boys in the Band. Steve hold a Music Education Degree and serves as the Executive Director for the Theatre Group.

They began their association with Theatre Group in January 2000, and have since designed and produced the sets for A Question of Mercy, The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told, Stupid Kids, Gertrude Stein and a Companion, Parallel Lives, Never the Sinner, Cabaret and most recently Snakebit. Additionally, TDA has designed for the Shwayder/Wolf Theatre at the JCC and St. Mary’s Academy. tina anderson (Set Design and Construction) is co–owner and Director of Production for TDA Design and Production. She is excited to start her second year designing for the Theatre Group. On a personal note: Meow Meow, Thank you!
wendy foster (Set Design) is co–owner and Director of Marketing for TDA Design and Production. She holds a degree in Interior Design from North Dakota State University and is involved with the design and marketing of theatrical productions and special events. Outside the theatre and events, she is a abstract artist, working primarily in monotypes.
kristin teig torres (Queenie Smith) I’m back! After Execution of Justice it took two years for Kristin to return to the Theatre On Broadway stage. This time it only took two months. Playing Fräulein Kost for five months was a blast… Will Cell Block Sirens of 1953 run that long? Other Denver shows include Agnes in Dancing at Lughnasa and Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing.
christopher willard was a graduate fellow in the Syracuse University Drama Department. He has directed for the Arvada Center, Aurora Fox, Theatre on Broadway, and Littleton’s Town Hall. Local productions include Into the Woods, 1776, Babe the Sheep-Pig (Best Children’s Production, Westword 2000), Spoon River Anthology, Eleemosynary, Putting it Together, and Pump Boys & Dinettes. Upcoming projects include an original musical this fall and a production of Meet Me in St. Louis at Christmas. He is pleased to bring back Cell Block Sirens of 1953 (DDCC nominee Best New Play, 1999) to Theatre On Broadway audiences. The show will receive its Chicago premiere this spring at the Victory Gardens Theater.
david williams has worked for Colorado AIDS Project for more than six years, and brought his professional experience to the Theatre Group last year for A Question of Mercy at Theatre On Broadway. He also served as stage manager for Porcelain at Theatre On Broadway, for Snakebit, Parallel Lives, Gertrude Stein and a Companion, Blue Room, and Food Chain; and was the fully–clothed house manager for the recent visit from 10 Naked Men at the Phoenix Theatre.
chris whyde (Hope Allen) was most recently seen in the revival of Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly this summer. Last summer he and Artistic Director Nicholas Sugar created and produced his one–man show, Whyde Awake! at the Theatre On Broadway. His other Theatre Group credits include the original Cell Block Sirens of 1953, Cabaret, Howard Crabtree’s Whoop Dee Doo, Tony ’n Tina’s Wedding, and Emma’s Child. He wants to thank Andrew and Chris for all their boundless humor and naughty thoughts.
