tina andersong (Set Design) recently designed the sets for Painted Bread and Reaching for Comfort, two original scripts produced by Theatre On Broadway. Prior to those, she designed and constructed the sets for the Wolf Academy at the Shwayder Theatre at the Mizel Center, which comprised A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Once Upon a Mattress and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Tina looks forward to doing the set for Last Summer at Bluefish Cove opening at the Phoenix Theatre this Fall.
shelly bordas (Office and House Manager) has enjoyed eight wonderful years with Theatre Group. When not serving patrons at the box office, she can be seen on stage. Theatre Group credits include Psycho Beach Party, SubUrbia, Tony and Tina’s Wedding, Beautiful Thing, Parallel Lives, and Cell Block Sirens of 1953 just to name a few. She is also a proud playwright and director of Tee Vee or Not Tee Vee, which recently premiered at the Phoenix Theatre.
marc burg (Lord Alfred Douglas) is excited to have the opportunity to work with Theatre Group again. He is also excited to be working with Nick and such a great cast. This is his fourth show at Theatre On Broadway. He has appeared in Beautiful Thing, A Question of Mercy, and Never the Sinner. Marc wants to thank all of his close friends – you know who you are!
scott curl (Narrator 4, Mavor, Marvin Taylor) is thrilled to be performing in Gross Indecency, his first Theatre Group production. Recently, he played Cloten in Promethean Theatre Company’s production of Cymbeline and will be performing in Open Stage’s upcoming Flaming Guns of the Purple Sage. Scott grew up in Indiana and moved to Denver after working for several years in Chicago. Thanks to Gwendolyn, Mom, Dad, Chris, David and Mike for their continuous love, support and understanding.
c.J. hoosier (Carson, Narrator 5) is excited to yet again be working with Theatre Group. Some of his favorite Theatre Group credits include Carl in Lonely Planet, ensemble in The Laramie Project, Student 4 in Shakespeare’s R&J, and the (Abridged) shows; Geoffery in The Sisters Rosensweig with the Mizel Center Theatre Company, and the Marquis in Quills with Promethean Theatre. When he is not on stage C.J. is the technical director for the theatre department at the Mizel Center for Arts and Culture, theatrical designer, and all around renaissance man. C.J. would like to thank Nick and Steve for continual support, patience, (and work), the amazing cast and crew for the privilege of working with them, and Mom/Dave/Roxy/Dorckus/Pooh for help and support in the day to day battles.
gregory brent johnson (Oscar Wilde) was last seen at Theatre On Broadway going down with the ship in Titanic. He has plummeted to his death while singing in Country Dinner Theatre’s Titanic: The Musical. Recently Greg was on death row in The Man Who Came to Dinner at the Arvada Center. He was repeatedly stabbed to death in the Denver Center’s Life is a Dream, and things went badly as Guilderstern in the Civic’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. Yet, Greg’s favorite role was Elwood P. Dowd in Harvey, where he was only pleasantly insane.
lamecia landrum has done tons of costumes for over 10 years, primarily for the Theatre Group, but she does occasionally wander off somewhere else. That might be due to age.
bryan marshal (Clarke, Narrator 6) most recently appeared at the Theatre On Broadway in Reaching for Comfort. Other stage work in Denver includes: Bug Theatre’s New Playwrights Festival, Buntport Theatre’s The Odyssey and Comic Potential at the Aurora Fox. Bryan works as a teaching artist for the Denver Center Theatre Academy.
scott mcLean (Narrator 3, Parker, Harris) is ecstatic to be back at Theatre On Broadway after performing in last fall’s The Laramie Project. His performances in Denver include Skeets Miller in Floyd Collins, Jody in Lonely Planet, and Tony in The Boyfriend. Other favorites: Max in Bent; George in She Loves Me; and Kenny Brewster in Three Guys Naked from the Waist Down. Scott sends many thanks to Nick, Steve and Steven for the great opportunities at Theatre On Broadway.
steven neale (Assistant Director and Stage Manager) has served as stage manager for the Theatre On Broadway for over six years for such shows as Ruthless! The Musical, The Laramie Project, Cabaret, Never the Sinner, Whyde Awake, Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly, Corpus Christi, and Poor Super Man. Steven also is the designer of the Theatre Group’s programs and newsletters, as well as serving as Webmaster for the Theatre Group Web site. Thanks to Steve and Nick for the creative freedom, and all my great friends who have wandered into my life.
george pulver (Sound Design) feels privileged to do technical work for Theatre Group in this production, as well as for past productions, including: Ruthless! The Musical, The Laramie Project, Never the Sinner, Whyde Awake, A Question of Mercy, Execution of Justice and Poor Super Man. Also, he appeared on stage in Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly, Party! and Howard Crabtree’s Whoop Dee Doo!
dennis sanchez (Narrator 1, Wood, Shaw) This is Dennis’ first performance at Theatre On Broadway, and he is excited to have the opportunity to work with so many talented individuals. Favorite past roles include playing Jesus in a touring version of the Odd Couple: female version. Billy Bones in Beach Bob–a&ndashgo&ndashgo. Ty in an independent film titled The Monument. And the Joker in Six&ndashFlag’s Elitch Gardens Batman stunt show titled the Carnival of Chaos. He would like to give special thanks to his Irish friend Scott Glennon for all his help; to his friends and family for their continued support as he endeavors to be a part of Denver’s theatre community; to the talented cast and crew of Gross Indecency; to Bill Smith who drives him crazy yet has helped form him as an actor; to his family at FAMILY STAR, a non-profit early head start.
nicholas sugar (Artistic Director, Director) recently starred in Theatre Group’s award–winning production of Cabaret as the Emcee, and won a best actor award in 2002. Nicholas has also directed Ruthless! The Musical, Never the Sinner, A Question of Mercy, Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly, The Blue Room, and the award–winning Shakespeare’s R&J. Other directing projects include The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me, The Dying Gaul, Party!, Love! Valour! Compassion!, subUrbia, Psycho Beach Party, Howard Crabtree’s Whoop Dee Doo!, and Poor Super Man. Nicholas has been seen on stage in the critically acclaimed productions of Corpus Christi, The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged), Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, and A Perfect Ganesh. He has worked as a director, choreographer with numerous theatres. Most recently choreographing the regional production of 8–Track: The Sounds of the 70s. Nicholas serves on the board of directors for the Colorado Theatre Guild.
steven tangedal (Executive Director, Light Design) started with Theatre Group in 1979, and has directed a wide variety of shows including the dramas Tracers, Burn This and Six Degrees of Separation; the musicals Cabaret, A…My Name is Alice, The Mystery of Edwin Drood and Closer Than Ever; the comedies Jeffrey, The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged) and Tony ’n Tina’s Wedding – and the recent hits Parallel Lives, Beautiful Thing, Emma’s Child and The Boys in the Band. Steve hold a Music Education Degree and serves as the Executive Director for the Theatre Group.
kevin wenning (Narrator 2, Atkins, Wright) was last seen in Spring Love at the Bug Theatre, and most recently with Theatre Group in Cabaret. He also worked behind the scenes on Cell Block Sirens of 1953, Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly, and this summer for The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged) and Reaching for Comfort.
steve wilson (Queensberry, Gill, Lockwood) is an experienced actor/director/teacher, Steve has been performing, directing and teaching in Denver for the last 16 years. Among his numerous directing credits, Steve directed Twelfth Night for the Theatre Group last fall. His acting credits include the Denver Center Theatre Company, Compass Theatre Company, the Denver Civic Theatre, the Arvada Center, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, the Utah Shakespearean Festival and many more. Major roles include: Bottom, Oberon, Puck and Lysander in A Midsummer NightÕ’s Dream; Mr. Bumble in Oliver!; Brutus in Caesar; Buckingham, Clarence in Richard III; Vincent Crummles in Nicholas Nickleby; Polonius, Horatio and Osric in Hamlet; Petruchio in Taming of the Shrew; Pippin in Pippin; Dromio of Syracuse in Comedy of Errors; Claude Frollo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Henry VI in Henry VI. Currently Steve is the artistic director of the Mizel Center for Arts and Culture, the director of the Wolf Theatre Academy, the performing arts chairman for St. Mary’s Academy and the president of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Theatre Guild.
david williams has stage–managed several productions at the Phoenix Theatre, including The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged), Lonely Planet, The EIGHT: Reindeer Monologues, Twelfth Night, Snakebit, Parallel Lives, Gertrude Stein and a Companion, Blue Room, and Food Chain. David has also been involved with productions at Theatre On Broadway, including Cabaret, A Question Of Mercy, and Porcelain. David’s worked with other local theatres, such as with The Avenue on Sylvia, and his most ambitious project to date was producing The Last Session at The Shop for Act Out Theatre Company.
